As fans, researchers, and advocates of women’s sports, we’re excited to see these elite athletes getting the attention, support, and investment that’s long overdue.
But as growth has exploded, we also noticed the absence of Black women in many of the business conversations related to the financial opportunities this new era presents.
Further, as daily and viral coverage of Black women athletes increases, there is an ongoing lack of nuance.
